Job Description:

Hilton Pearl River, a full-service luxury hotel located 25 minutes from New York City in Rockland County (NY) and bordering Bergen County (NJ), is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, authentic, and poised professional to join our exceptional team as Director of Sales.

The Director of Sales is responsible for providing exceptional guest service, managing the room sales department, developing and implementing an effective strategic sales plan, and maximizing hotel revenue and profits by generating sales of guestrooms and meeting space.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

•Provide exceptional guest service

•Manage and develop sales team and sales processes towards continuing improvement

•Create and execute a sales and marketing plan to achieve revenue goals

•Prospect, solicit, and secure guestroom group sales, transient sales, and meetings business in various market segments with new accounts while maintaining and strengthening existing relationships and accounts

•Ensure sales inquiries are responded to in a timely manner

•Continually research local market and industry trends to maintain competitiveness

•Organize and lead site tours of hotel to familiarize guests and clients with hotel features and available services

•Seeking out opportunities to develop business by networking at community events and industry events

•Develop and conduct persuasive, effective, professional sales presentations with clients

•Ensure group and function requirements and records are properly detailed to ensure efficient account management, proper planning, and seamless operation of events

•Participate in various internal meetings, including weekly staff meetings, sales meetings, and Executive Committee meetings

•Participate in the hotel’s Manager On Duty program

•Professionally represent the hotel to current and potential guests and clients, the community, and others on our team

•Work collaboratively with our experienced team to further the hotel's continuing effort to deliver caring and outstanding guest service and financial profitability

Job Requirements

•5+ years hotel sales department experience required; Hilton experience preferred

•Team management experience preferred

•Experience and proficiency with Sales Pro or Delphi

•Experience and proficiency with Hilton sales systems, OnQ systems, and rate and inventory management systems

•Must possess knowledge of NYC/NJ market and familiarity with corporate travel and meetings

•Exceptional in-person, phone, written, and email communication skills required

•Must have excellent selling skills (including telephone sales), negotiation skills, and an understanding of the sales process from lead generation to booking

•Experience and competency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required

•Must be personable, organized, detail-oriented, outgoing, and motivated

•High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
