VMD has an exciting opportunity for you to join as an HR Assistant working in our Fairfax, VA office. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to handle many of the day to day HR administration needs including:

Preparing new-hire welcome emails, sending pre-hire notifications, and ensuring all required new hire paperwork is collected and processed.

Processing new hire benefit elections in MarketLink and notifying other benefit vendors of new hire start and eligibility.

Completion of Form I-9’s and creation of personnel files.

Assisting Generalists with benefits administration for enrollments and changes.

Ensuring benefits invoices are processed accurately for payment each month.

Maintaining personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

Administering VMD’s Professional Development Reimbursement Program.

Addressing basic employee inquiries and connecting employees to appropriate party when necessary.

Preparing off-boarding notifications and preparing employee out-processing documents.

Handling confidential material discreetly and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Preparing and distributing meeting minutes.

Addressing employment verifications and purchase orders.

Performing Ad Hoc reporting.

Assisting HR team with other various initiatives.

Performing other general administrative duties such as copying, data entry, filing, and mailings.


At least 2 years of administrative experience.

Excellent attention to detail, verbal/written communication, and organizational skills.

Strong follow through, ability to problem solve and work independently.

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree

Specific Field of Study or Degree (if any): BA or BS in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent in experience.
