Senior Test Equipment Design Engineer – Aerial Refueling Equipment

Location: Davenport, IA

Description:

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• This role will focus on the definition and design of test equipment

• The position will include requirements definition for test systems including mechanical actuation, thermal controlled hydraulic, and thermal chamber systems

• The position will require use of Creo/ProE for CAD including the generation of detail drawings of component pieces (i.e. test fixtures)

• The position will include the design and definition of ground support equipment (GSE) for aerial refueling equipment

• The position will involve communicating with team members to clearly understand form, fit, and function of product and test equipment

• This position will support activities to close Critical Design Review (CDR) and prepare engineering drawings for procurement and initial builds.

• Must be able to plan and communicate work within a defined Integrated Product Team organization and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.

• 5+ years post graduate engineering experience with design and definition of aerospace or similar components, equipment, and installations.

• Experience in 3D modelling with ProE/Creo.

• Must demonstrate previous aerospace or test equipment development experience with emphasis on mechanical systems.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Due to export compliance, must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful U.S. Permanent Resident.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years engineering experience with design and definition of aerospace or similar components, equipment, and installations

• Desired extensive experience with two-column tolerance stacks and expert knowledge of GD&T per Effective Training Inc. by Alex Krulikowski

• Familiarity with and ability to interpret ASME Y14.5-2009

• Previous experience in leading design teams through CDR and into initial procurement and build of aerospace products and/or installations.
