Wilson Employment is currently recruiting for a direct hire Quality Manager for a mid size, (Employee Owned Co), defense manufacturer in the greater Nashua, NH area. Must be a flexible hands on Quality Manager with AS9100 experience, who loves multitasking.

Quality Manager Responsibilities:

Collaborate with engineering to determine critical part features and review design manufacturability. Make recommendations to modify part specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production.

Provide support to operations, ensuring consistent quality technique application

Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.

Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerance, and materials related issues.

Effectively communicate and reinforce the commitment to continuous quality improvement

Determine when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes. Review and analyze results. Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.

Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning activities to determine appropriate use of existing and new measurement systems during new tool or process design and startup.

Coordinate pre-launch production trial run process monitoring.

Participate in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Maintain Control Plans and FMEA's throughout the life of the part. Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action.

Perform duties in accordance with quality system requirements as the “voice of the customer”.

Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, and Production to resolve customer complaints and concerns.

Recommend and implement enhancements to the quality management system that result in improved quality performance, increased customer satisfaction, and/or simplification of processes to reduce costs.

Determine and apply appropriate Measurement System Analysis tools. Apply appropriate use of statistical techniques.

Improve data collection methodologies that promote efficient data retrieval, process analysis, and data driven decision making.

Create and maintain supplier performance metrics to help provide an objective method for evaluating our current vendors.

Manage quality metrics and present findings and recommendations to management

Ensure readiness for all internal and external quality audits.

Develop the annual audit plan, train internal audit team members, perform necessary duties as the Lead Internal Auditor and provide ongoing communication/reporting of results.

Coordinate and direct external DCMA surveillance audits

Oversee the controlled document system, to include a final review of all changes to procedures, work instructions, forms, master lists and other associated documents to ensure quality certification requirements are met.

Monitor the Periodic Review Matrix to ensure repetitive quality requirements are met.

Quality Manager Qualifications:

BSEE or BSME preferred; in lieu will of consider 10 to 15 years of experience in an electronic manufacturing environment

Five - seven years’ experience managing a certified quality management system (e.g. AS9100/ISO 9001)

Exceptional mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of mechanical processes)

Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in an electronic manufacturing environment.

Previous work experience in an organization that supplied government customers.

Customer quality assurance experience.

Previous audit experience.

Able to read and apply Product Specification Documents

Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement elements - Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt preferred

Familiar with Microsoft Office Products

Quality Manager Skills / Experience:

Formal training and previous experience as a Lead Internal Auditor.

Project management experience

Certified Quality Engineer

Active Security Clearance strongly preferred

Ability to obtain security clearance required
