The Client is a highly recognized multi-billion dollar global manufacturing and distribution company, viewed as a leader in worldwide industrial vehicle and component production. The company produces and sells a wide variety of vehicles, equipment and systems globally and produces some of the most recognized brands in the world in their markets. This position is with one of the company’s US subsidiaries that manufacturers a wide variety of products under recognized brand names.



The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will report to the Director of Manufacturing and will have responsibilities for ME activities in a number of manufacturing facilities. Reports to the position include all plant ME’s, Robot Integration, Weld School, Special Projects, Nesters, Programmers, and Tooling and Maintenance.


The position is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the company’s multi-plant engineering departments. The position will also provide the necessary technical direction to improve productivity, enhance process/product and reduce overall product cost while meeting production schedules.

This individual will:

• Be responsible for talent development, providing leadership, training and learning opportunities.

• Analyze work force utilization, facility layout and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of personnel and equipment.

• Recommend methods for improving efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow, relocating work stations and equipment, and purchasing equipment.

• Develop preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.

• Forecast operating costs of department and direct preparation of budget requests.

• Ensure all manufacturing product specifications are developed and testing procedures are in place for current and new products.

• Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize use of space, equipment, material and personnel.

• Work closely with research and development, quality assurance and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures.


This assignment will be domiciled in the subsidiary’s primary manufacturing facility near HQ in the Midwest and will travel to nearby manufacturing facilities as needed.


A Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree is required.


The successful candidate must possess:

• At least four years of leadership experience in an engineering role.

• At least eight years of engineering relevant experience.

• Experience in lean manufacturing initiatives.

• Expertise with manual and robotic GMAW.

• Strong background in capital assets justification and approval.

• Working knowledge of automated manufacturing processes and business operation systems.

• Experience in industrial equipment, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment or construction equipment (preferred, not required).

• Legal authorization to work permanently in the US by either US citizenship or Green Card.

An attractive compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that includes a base salary, along with a meaningful performance-based bonus opportunity. A relocation package is available if required.
