The IT Security and Information Assurance Subject Matter Expert is an important support role that works under the direct guidance and supervision of a PiTech Project or Program Manager. Assigned to low, moderate and high complexity project and/or programs, the IT Security and Information Assurance Subject Matter Expert is expected to provide significant contributions to the design, development and completion of project or program deliverables.


In your role as IT Security and Information Assurance Subject Matter Expert, you will perform the following duties including, but not limited to:

Specific to the NIEHS program:

Serve as the IT subject matter expert (SME) for Security related work efforts (network, server, application and data security etc.)

Assist the team in building Security Strategy and Plans compliant with NIST and NIH security standards

Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all aspects of IT security operations

Develop communication strategies and execute security awareness programs with the NIEHS stakeholders

Assess security operations to monitor and identify gaps for remediation

Work with the NIEHS Change Control board to review, develop and implement Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages

Work with the configuration management team to develop and manage the C&A packages

Develop architectural frameworks to support security objectives and provide guidance on industry best practices

Work with solutions architects to ensure solutions comply with security requirements

Work with the project managers in the LOB to provide input on security requirements and estimated work effort

Work with key stakeholders in the IT team to develop security strategies and work products for cloud transformation opportunities

Gather and document IT security requirements from the different line of business and stakeholders for acquisition development

Work with technical writers and documentation specialists to provide IT Security related inputs for acquisition development

Perform quality assurance tasks in support of the program

Work with the key leaders at PiTech Solutions to develop business development (BD) strategies and conduct technical sessions to support BD strategy

Work with PiTech Solutions Business Development team to serve as SME in proposal development

Perform other duties as necessary and identified by the PiTech Solutions leadership team

Education Requirements

CISSP or CompTIA Security+ certification

Bachelor’s degree at a minimum

Experience Requirements

10+ years progressive IT infrastructure security career growth, preferable in the Federal government services sector

Meaningful experience interacting with PMO leadership

Public trust clearance or ability to pass government background check
