Job Description:

Roles and Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the day to day management duties of the facilities in regards to quality. This position must ensure the quality of our products by further developing, implementing and updating the Quality Management Systems. Furthermore, this position is responsible for the quality of all products manufactured by the company and ensuring adherence to customer specifications/expectations.

Plan, manage, and organize all functions related to Quality Assurance and support the management team with problem resolutions.

Manage the Quality Systems including but not limited to: HACCP, SSOP(s), SOP(s), GMP(s), Supplier Approval, Labeling Requirements and Allergen Control.

Coordinate the internal and external audit programs accordingly to meet GFSI standards (BRC) and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure compliance.

Manage and support the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Supervisors and their staff members to meet food safety, quality and budgetary goals.

Customer Complaint Resolution – Managing customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis and providing corrective actions to further eliminate issues. Must be able to prepare written corrective actions to the customers and/or the sales team.

Works with Plant Management and supports CPI (Continuous Process Improvement) initiatives.

Managing SPC programs and reporting on plant performance in regards to overall quality.

Requirements

BS or BA degree required. Major in Food Science, Biology or related field preferred.

3-5 years of experience working with food safety and Quality Assurance in a Management Role

Must be knowledgeable in HACCP Principles

Good Written and Oral Communication skills

Technical Competencies

Knowledgeable CFR/FDA Regulatory Requirements

Labeling and Nutritional Calculations

Internal Auditing and Co-Packer Monitoring

CAPA Analysis and Execution

Knowledgeable in GFSI Standards(BRC/SQF) or able to acquire

CPI(Continuous Process Improvement) Strategies

SPC (Statistical Process Control)

HTST Pasteurization, Aseptic, Carbonation, Acidic Controls

Microbiology (Food/Beverage Related Lab Procedures)
