Financial Systems Engineer

Responsible for translating the client’s business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for very large complex IT solutions and integrating architecture. Acts as an advocate for the client as the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to address client business problems. Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains enterprise-wide solutions to total system or subsystems using internally created and/or off the shelf products. Analyzes and identifies all or part of a company's existing or new peripheral, network, and telecommunications systems requirements, taking into consideration the special technology needs. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Provides direction for design activities. Often project-based, sometimes working at customer sites.

System integrator face to the sponsor at the front office level; coordinating efforts across offices. The role will focus on gathering information, analyzing, preparing, coordinating and finalizing documents, strategies, approaches, methodologies to support successful operation of the sponsor’s mission. The role will serve as the central POC for the components action items and data calls, creating presentations for briefings, aggregating data in response to data calls, leading team efforts for process implementation and/or improvements and assisting with the development and execution of strategic plans.

The candidate will support the customer with tracking expenditures, initiating budget builds, tracking funding requests, running reports, assisting with preparation of briefings to Front Office, as well as, attending and participating in these briefings with customer management. Must be willing to be proactive and communicate daily with project managers and group management. This is a high-visibility position in a very high-energy, fast-paced, mission focused area.

The finance resource is a critical part of the group and mission and is the go-to person for all budget-related questions. The candidate will be expected to respond to spontaneous customer management requests for funding status updates. The candidate will also work with internal and external financial organizations to gain insight into a complicated external funding process.

Responsibilities include communicating the external funding process to offices; serving as the central POC to promote and maintain positive relations between the customer organization and external entities; promoting information sharing and mitigate knowledge gap; mitigating risk to the acquisition process by obtaining early warring of policy or process changes; monitoring and accelerating routing for funding packages, acceptance documents, and de-obligation/closeout actions.

Strong understanding of the customer's financial policies and processes

• Experience with the customer and customer's financial systems

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment co-located with multiple contractor and customer teammates

• Demonstrated ability to quickly ramp up to support the customer’s needs, multi-task, work autonomously, take the initiative to provide creative alternatives to intractable challenges or systemic problems

• Experience with contracts

• Proficiency in Excel

Education and years of experience

10 to 12 years with BS/BA or

8 to 10 years with MS/MA or

5 to 7 years with PhD.
