Job Description:

Thorough knowledge of: electrical and electronic engineering principles, through hole and SMT PC board design and manufacturing methodology; electrical and mechanical measurement and analysis devices. Must possess basic technical writing skills. Familiar with linear and switching power supplies, motor drivers, data conversion techniques, and optoelectronic devices. Computer literate: familiar with the use of word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.

Familiarity with engineering design and drafting tools, such as ORCAD, PADS, AutoCad, SolidWorks, or similar design and layout tools. Familiarity with PLD and FPGA devices and programming is a definite plus.

• Develop and execute solutions for obsolete components, including alternate sourcing, alternate components or PC board re-design and re-layout. Develop and execute substantiative testing and verification, and documentation activities.

• Design, build, test, and document simple to moderately complex manufacturing assembly fixtures, test tooling, and test fixtures.

• Analyze field and/or manufacturing failures of electronic and electrical components, sub-assemblies, and instruments, and provide corrective and preventative solutions and actions.

• Participate as the Operations Electrical Engineering representative in departmental and external project teams. Provide engineering support to assembly and test personnel.

• Follow design, quality, and safety guidelines based on GMP, FDA, and ISO guidelines and related BD Quality and Safety Standards and Practices.

• Typically requires five or more years overall experience as an engineer in a manufacturing engineering or design engineering environment engaged in the activities described above.
