We currently have a great opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to support our Urgent Care clinic in Ramona. In this role, you will be responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing and managing patients in the clinic. In addition, you will be responsible for the overall patient care management process.

Additional duties include:

Responsibilities may include taking a patient's vital signs, documenting care in a medical record, aiding in diagnosing conditions and diseases, offering lifestyle, medical and dietary suggestions and developing and adhering to a treatment plan, including writing prescriptions and dispensing medications. Although most of the duties of a NP are patient care-centered, other duties could include teaching, department projects, quality assurance, community education with follow up, and administrative duties.

Performs a complete physical exam, obtains complete medical history and records findings. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Interprets and integrates data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan.

Administers medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines. Sutures minor lacerations.

Instructs patient/family regarding medications and treatments. Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.

Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients. Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits. Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. Triage's patient telephone calls and provides consultation

At least one year, within the past two years, experience working as an NP, or at least one year experience with family practice or internal medicine patients as an RN.

Active medical Advanced Practice Licensure with Prescriptive Authority from a United States jurisdiction and maintain a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration number (certificate). License must correspond to DEA Registration number.

Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited College of Nursing.

Certified through recognized credentialing authority such as the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficient computer software skills in MS Suite and EPM/EHR, preferably NextGen.

Excellent organization and time management skills.

Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with physicians, staff, patients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
