Your Opportunity:

We are seeking a talented, team-focused Civil Engineer to join our team in Tallahassee!

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for conducting studies and preparing plans and specifications, applying technical engineering principles, methods, and techniques on public and private engineering projects.

The position is also responsible for preparing and coordinating technical activities on assigned projects, schedules, be able to conduct and coordinate assigned engineering work, monitoring work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices and to coordinate with other project participants. This position is expected to have significant technical knowledge and the awareness to be able to recognize when technical problems are developing and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Project schedules and forecasts

Preparation of plans and reports for project design elements including site grading, drainage, utilities, roadways

Coordination and checking of engineering deliverables (QA/QC)

Monthly project status reports

Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical aspects of projects

Accountable for the successful completion of engineering projects

Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals

Budget monitoring and trend tracking

Participate in Client/Contractor meetings and resolve technical project issues when necessary

Ensure effective engineering and Client communications daily

Prepare applicable environmental permit, coordinate and monitor the approval process with environmental agencies

Knowledge in Federal, State and Local construction practices

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

Experience in all design aspects of site engineering including: drainage, stormwater, water, wastewater and site planning

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office including; word, Excel and Power Point

AutoCAD, Civil 3D experience required

Proficiency in relevant Stormwater software programs which may include; AdICPR, StormCAD or PondPack

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

3-9 years of engineering experience in site development and familiar with regulatory requirements

Registered Professional Engineer, or ability to obtain P.E. license within one year of date of hire
