Title: Job Developer

Position Description:

Responsible for providing vocational assessments, counseling, referrals, job search assistance/job development and job coaching for adults with serious mental illness, many of whom have forensic histories.

Reports to: Team Leader at Harlem Bay Network PROS

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

•Provide vocational assessments for participants.

•Develop individualized vocational plans with participants, provide individual counseling and facilitate vocational groups as needed to help them reach their vocational goals.

•Assist with soft-skills development to help people prepare for basic job expectations such as handling stress/anxiety. Working effectively with co-workers and supervisors, and developing organizational and time management skills.

•Assist with resume creation and interview skills development.

•Provide referrals to appropriate outside vocational/educational services such as ACCES-VR

•Provide assistance with job development and job search.

•Provide job coaching as needed to assist with job retention.

•Participate in team meetings to ensure coordination of vocational and other services.

•Maintain caseload of 5 participants: complete assessments, bi-weekly meetings, progress notes, and individualized treatment plans.

•Facilitate 6-8 groups a week.

•All other duties as assigned.


•BA in related field.

•Prefer 2 years of vocational experience with a SPMI/MICA population.

•Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal and computer literacy skills.

•Understanding of Evidence Based Practices and experience with IPS, Person Centered Planning, and/or MI.

•Bilingual/bi-cultural a plus.
