Nak’azdli Whut’en is seeking an energetic, dynamic individual with a positive and supportive attitude to fill the position of the Social Worker/Family Liaison in the Social Development Department. This individual will be working closely with the staff in this department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide essential preventative education, support, and advocacy to Nak’azdli Child(ren), youth, families, and community.

Ability to formulate effective individual, family & community goal & care plan.

Act as liaison between families, community, and MCFD.

Provide advocacy for decreasing children in care.

Improve accountability through a family-centred approach that focuses on meeting the needs of our families and children’s safety.

Requires home visits, attends court and handles a heavy caseload.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledgeable in Family courts and process.

BSW, CYC, HSW degree or diploma with relevant experience required.

Knowledge and experience with CFCSA, related legislation/policies – both provincial and federal.

Knowledge of MCFD, and NBHCFS operation.

Experience working with First Nations considered an asset.

A valid Class 5 Driver License.

Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check mandatory
