PPDG, Inc is seeking a highly skilled lactation consultant to provide full-time care to our military men and women at Mountain Home AFB, ID. Successful candidate will be passionate about educating mothers, successfully assist with breastfeeding issues, painful nursing, decreased milk production, latching difficulties, and babies with low weight gain. Position: Registered Nurse - Lactation Consultant

Location: Mountain Home AFB, ID.

Hours of Performance: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 5:30 pm.

Job Highlights

Performs comprehensive lactation assessment of the mother and her infant within the hospital setting in accordance with the policy and guidelines of postpartum and newborn nursery care required for Government beneficiaries.

Provides comprehensive care to the perinatal mother desiring to lactate.

Assesses mothers and newborns for normal/abnormal anatomy to determine ability to breastfeed.

Maintains comprehensive client records.

Consults with mothers having breastfeeding difficulties.

Conducts quality assurance programs to monitor the caliber of the program.


Shall be a Registered Nurse with Associate or Bachelor degree.

Must be a current International Board of Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Shall have provided a minimum of three years lactation consultant services, with at least two years in the inpatient hospital setting.

Must have knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.
