433A Millwright/309 A Electrician with Mechanical Background

OR dual ticketed $34 PER HOUR TO START

Required in Milton, Fulltime: Max hours per week 60

3 shift operation during high season August to February

7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am

Then back to day and afternoon shift


433A Millwright and 309 A Electrician OR dual ticketed

Min 5 years experience in a fast pace manufacturing facility environment

Excellent communication skills in English, written/verbal

Excellent knowledge of equipment and processes within scope of job

Certified in use of all required equipment

Skilled in root cause analysis/trouble techniques of equipment problems

Creative problem-solving skills

Blueprint reading and electrical schematics

Sufficient knowledge of PLC's Trouble shoot hydraulics, pneumatic and electrical issues

Work at heights up to 60 feet including Scissor lifts and ladders

Working knowledge of lathe, milling machine, grinder and hand tools

Working knowledge of MIG/TIG welding

Good Knowledge of WHIMS and ISO 9000

Good Knowledge of environment, health and safety regulations

Packaging industry an asset


- Routine maintenance of production equipment to ensure the most efficient flow of production with the least possible downtime

- Safe and efficient maintenance and repairs of plant facilities and packaging equipment as required including working with external contractors

- Administer and implement the preventative maintenance program

- Support maintenance of spare parts inventory

- Maintain detailed records of technical information and labour hours of unscheduled repairs and improvements

- Use metal lathe and milling machinery

- Trouble shoot ladder logic and PLC's by monitoring inputs and outputs, as well as connecting a computer to a PLC for on line trouble shooting

- PLC minor program changes

- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations

- Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components

- Overhaul equipment and specify parts required

- Work independently, without much supervision

- Find and diagnose problems with equipment and decide on a correct course of action

- Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors

- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems


$34 per hour to start commensurate with experience

Shift premium:

50 cents extra for afternoon shift

75 cents extra for nights shift
