Job Description:

Client company leading global supplier of resins, gel coats, colorants and additives for composites and cast polymers is currently looking for a Director of Supply Chain on the logistics side (not purchasing) to create and spearhead enterprise optimization of the supply chain. Will need to have 10+ years of consultative/vendor experience as the first phase of this position will require successful interaction with internal and external customers/vendors in creating a vision, setting strategic direction, and achieving buy-in to recommendations.

Position will start as an individual consultant style role as the environment is reviewed strategically at a high level and will evolve (12 - 18 months) into a high visibility position with ownership over building the enterprise Supply Chain function. Position will report to VP level

Ideal candidate will have prior experience in:

- Leadership background (will eventually have reports)

- implementing inventory management protocols

- leveraging order sizes and patterns

- developing supply risk management protocols

- managing/adapting to changing market conditions and working capital targets.

- Willingness to travel initially in the consultative portion of the role, but that will scale back to minimal

- US working papers

Nice to have:

- Background in Oil & Gas, Hazmat, Chemicals, Plastics tend to work well

- Experience with Import/Export via rail between US, Mexico and Canada

- Position requires more logistics than purchasing (even though it reports to purchasing)

- Prior knowledge of transporting hazardous chemicals as raw materials is a plus.

- Relevant industry experience is really key, particularly in negotiating and problem solving with the railroad.

- Bilingual Spanish speaking big plus!
