Compliance Requirements:

This position requires that the successful candidate possess and maintain an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Arizona AND State AZ Board Behavioral Health licensed. Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-2758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults. Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804.

Travel:

In-state travel is required. This position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.

Description:

This position reports within the Division of Developmental Disabilities-Quality Management Unit and is responsible for monitoring and oversight of quality of care concern investigations pursuant to a contract between the Division and the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) to implement and operate the provisions of the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS; Contract # YH6-0014/DES #E 2005004) program which is authorized pursuant to A.R.S. §36-2903 et seq and A.R.S. §36-2932 et seq.. This position is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of services provided to members to ensure the health and safety of those who receive services within the statewide program [42 CFR 438.330(a)(1)(i), 42 CFR 438.330(a)(3)].

This position is accountable for, but not limited to, triaging, investigating and resolving quality of care (QOC) concerns. Provide clinical expertise, oversight, and leadership regarding quality of care concerns. This includes tracking and monitoring of member and systemic care concerns. Evaluate cases to determine the need for involvement of the Division's medical director. The position is responsible for maintaining time lines and case metrics as well as audit for completeness of case work and continuous readiness to meet AHCCCS requirements. In addition, this position maintains the established tracking and trending process used to identify potential concerns with specific members and/or providers for follow-up. This position will also provide technical assistance and review of case responses to quality management coordinators, medical directors and AHCCCS. Provides leadership, mentoring, coaching and direct supervision of staff.

• General laws and reporting regulations for abuse and neglect of vulnerable populations

• Health care issues and standards of care for vulnerable populations including developmentally disabled, those receiving long term care services, and/or behavioral health services

Preferences:
