Once I have gone through training, what does my sales day look like?

You will be involved in daily business development activities with business leaders from a wide range of industries in Southern Oregon and Northern California. You will set up appointments to review their current insurance policy program for costs and coverage opportunities, and then work with your team to craft a new comprehensive risk management program. This is consultative style selling, not transactional sales. Depending on the size of the prospect, policy expiration dates, complexity of insurance needs, and satisfaction with their current agent, the sales cycle can range from one week to over a year. You will build a pipeline of opportunities and will engage in drip campaigns, follow up, and will provide insurance educational materials so that when the policy is up for renewal, you will be part of the selection process. You will start out writing small community business accounts which are easier to get and typically have a shorter sales cycle, and as your skills build, you will graduate to writing larger more complex risks. Senior Producers will help guide/mentor you along the way. You will be selling a wide range of policies including Property, Casualty, Workers Compensation, Surety, Cyber, Crime, Employment Liability and other professional coverages.

What is the salary/compensation package?

Salary is dependent on insurance and sales experience. Entry level (no insurance experience) salary range is $50K base + commission on new business. First year goal is $40,000 in commissions. (typical agency commission is 15% of premium and you receive a percentage of that). Second and Third year goals would be $50,000. you also receive renewal commissions on previous year's sales. Goal is to build your book of business to a total of $300K by the end of year 3. You would then be considered "validated" by the agency. Package also includes a rich benefits package and retirement plan.

Producers that are currently selling Commercial Lines are also highly desired. Salary will be commensurate with book value, any buy out options, and non-compete restrictions.

Background needed to be considered for the role:

1. Track record of quota or goal based sell in Southern Oregon or Northern California markets

2. Strong presentation skills both online, on phone, and in person

3. Ability to prospect, find own leads, and network effectively

4. Ability to bounce back from rejection and maintain a strong sales pipeline

5. Demonstrated ability to sell an intangible to the C Suite or Business owner

6. Strong work ethic and "hustle" ability

7. Comfortable tracking sales opportunities in a CRM and accountable for results
