About the Job

We have an immediate need for a licensed therapist (LPC, LMFT or LCSW) to provide full time contract counseling, specializing in play and family therapy. Kaleidoscope is looking for therapists who want to build their private practice with a successful group and become long term teammates.

About You:

• You are a licensed in the state of Texas as an LPC, LMFT or LCSW.

• You have solid clinical experience in play therapy. You know both your strengths and your limitations and are ready to refer to teammates if a case exceeds your experience.

• Since you'll be providing services to patients across the lifespan, you will be willing to see clients until 8 pm and on weekend day(s).

• You are an entrepreneur who loves networking and building referral sources. Not only do you have great ideas about practice specialties you would like to develop, but you have the motivation and enthusiasm to take the steps to build that practice. You’ll appreciate that we have an overflow of referrals to help you build your initial caseload, but you won’t be dependent upon them. You’ll enjoy the benefit of having experienced support in targeting your networking and marketing efforts.

• You can handle the many details and endless documentation of a private practice. Your t’s are always crossed and you “eat deadlines for breakfast,” but you would appreciate the support and infrastructure of an established group.

• You’re a team player, and easy to get along with. You respond quickly to emails from clients, teammates and administrative staff.

About the Match:

We have some referrals to get you started. With some effort, you will have a full caseload in a month or so. But what we are really looking for are therapists who want to be our partners for the long run. We’re hoping that you might be that person and we will get to work together for a long time.

We Provide:

• Patient referrals.

• Competitive compensation.

• An in-house receptionist who answers calls and schedules intake appointments.

• Individual consultation with our Clinical Team.

• Bi-weekly group staffing and case consultation.

• Supportive team environment.

• Comfortable office space.

• Internet.

• Expressive Art supplies.

• 2 Sandtray and miniatures.

• Stand-alone Play Room.

• Stand-alone Activity Room.

• Master's or PhD degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework related to the practice of mental health counseling with emphasis in Play Therapy or related field required.

• Current Texas license is required.

• Possess a working knowledge of mental health diagnoses and potential behavioral manifestations.

• Registered Play Therapist preferred, but not required

• Ability to build rapport with clients.

• Strong leadership qualities.

• Ability to demonstrate literacy in using computerized information systems.

• Counseling: 1 year (Required).

• Play therapy: 1 year (Required).
