The Product Manager requires Manufacturing experience, Product Management from concept to launch.

Someone with a marketing background, product launch, communications, and strategic market activities on their resume would be ideal.

The selected person will work with teams to introduce new and enhanced products that support growth and goals. New products will come from ideas, as well the Product Managers experience, market research, and prospects and contacts. The Product Manager will handle new product projects and will work with engineering and product lifecycle manager counterparts to define product release requirements.

The PM will possess marketing skills, an industrial design mindset, and be technical savvy. Key is to have a big-picture vision and the drive to make the vision a reality. The PM will spend time in the market to understand its problems and define product needs for the broader market. New products will be designed to address customer problems, fulfill customers’ needs, and provide desired job outcomes, adding value and generating a profit. The PM will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, product positioning, key benefits, and target customers.

The Product Manager will serves as the champion for new products and:

Increase profit generated from assigned product lines by adding revenue streams from new products. Profit will come from successful new/enhanced product launches, and strategic pricing.

Understand the applicable markets for the assigned products so that product design, performance characteristics, and cost/price are appropriate for target customers.

Fully understand our competitors’ products including those considered to be acceptable substitutes. The PM will initiate side-by-side competitive comparisons as required.

The Product Development Manager will lead the effort to:

Gather and prioritize information about our customers’ unmet product needs within selected market segments leading to new and enhanced products.

Gather information about our competitors’ offering so we can correctly position our products in the market.

Create the product playbook that defines the product vision, product strategy, and the roadmap of planned product additions, upgrades, and planned product obsolescence.

Develop the core positioning and messaging for the final product to guide promotion, marketing, and direct selling efforts to include literature development, sales guides, products samples, online information and tools, etc.

Work with our production staff as required to manage and implement product launch according to the established schedule.

Computer SKILLS:

Proficiency using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
