The Kimball Electronics Fabrication (KEFAB) location was a strategic acquisition for Kimball Electronics, Inc.’s worldwide organization in 2016. We are now looking for a Quality Manager to help take our Indianapolis location to the next level of manufacturing service. We are a customer focused company and want to provide our customers with products and services to support their growth and development. Position Overview:

The KEFAB Quality Manager is an incredible opportunity that will be responsible for leading our facility through ISO13485 certification, maintaining IATF16949 and ISO901 certifications, and implementing world class quality systems. You will lead a talented team of Quality associates ranging from engineers, CMM operator(s), and inspection staff. This position will report to our General Manager.

The Quality Manager serves as the team leader of the plant Quality organization. The quality manager finds, implements, and maximizes the utilization of world class people, processes, systems, software, and techniques for relentless, continuous, measureable improvement in every area of the organization. The Quality Manager is directly responsible for supplier quality, quality engineering, failure analysis engineering, reliability engineering and testing, customer quality, RMA/field failure analysis, corrective and preventive actions(CAPA), and other continuous improvement programs, compliance with customer specifications, compliance with industrial standards, certifications, and regulations, as well as receiving and outgoing inspection and audit.

Basic Background Requirements

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt, Engineering degree and/or extensive experience and demonstrated mastery, ISO 9001 knowledge & experience, ISO 13485/FDA 820 knowledge & experience, FDA front room experience, strong analytical and problem solving, knowledge and experience of quality systems, experience with DFx, FMEA, root cause failure analysis and CAPA and reliability testing. Additional preferred experience with TS/IATF16949 quality certifications.

Education

•Required 4 Year degree in engineering or quality

•Highly preferred MBA degree

•Preferred Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent experience

Key Performance Objectives

Short Term: (0 to 6 months)

•Learn about Kimball Vision and Guiding Principles to lead development of appropriate ‘people’ growth & development practices.

•Learn the KEI incentive systems to understand and be able to communicate to all levels of the organization

•Develop solid relationships with direct reports, internal customers, and vendors

•Determine organizational layout required for maximum effectiveness

•Begin Lean journey within the Operations Team including effective scheduling processes

•Assume project leadership of ISO13485 certification

•Support all ISO certifications including IATF16949, ISO13485, and ISO14001

•Implement visual management system across plant floor

Midterm: (6 to 18 months)

•Achieve ISO13485 certification by September 30, 2019

•Ensure all ISO compliance within manufacturing including IATF16949, ISO13485, and ISO14001

•Work with operations to fully implement SPC across production floor

•Evaluate the most effective methods for equipment calibration and implement appropriate system

•Provide training and development opportunities to all personnel to ensure top performing workforce

•Implement Lean Mfg. based quality systems including robust use of root cause analysis

•Work with General Manager, Engineering Manager, and Operation Manager to develop future vision for plant operations including capital equipment investment

18 months +

•Implement world class quality systems

•Develop cross-training and development program for production staff to allow for internal growth and promotions

•Assist in transforming KEFAB into world class operation including smart factory technology, automation, new processes, and inspection equipment.
