This national behavioral health corporation is seeking a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a Hospital employed position with a major medical center in Washington, DC. This position is responsible for providing direct clinical services to patients within the scope of services allowed under the District of Columbia Board of Nursing and in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Psychiatric Committee and the Medical Center Medical Staff By-Laws. This includes performing psychiatric evaluations on patients, in collaboration with a supervising psychiatrist and a treatment team, prescribing medications, providing clinical assessments and diagnosis in accordance with DC law and MWHC Medical Staff By-Laws and other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications Candidates must have a Master's, postgraduate, or doctoral degree from a PsychiatricMental Health Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) (formerly NLNAC National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission). Eligible for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Also, he/she should have a minimum of 3-4 years of nursing experience and at least 1 year as an Advanced Practice Provider, preferably in an Inpatient psychiatric setting. Must be flexible to adjust to the needs of a fast-paced environment, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and display proficient oral/written communication skills.
