Description:

Business Development Manager – for prominent global law firm. This position specifically focuses on proposals and training and candidate will provide leadership and drive strategy and execution of firmwide RFP responses, team processes and other business development initiatives. This position participates in a variety of interesting and important Business Development activities including development of the marketing training curriculum. This position has two direct reports – a Specialist and a Coordinator. Candidate will oversee the process for responding to firmwide RFPs/RFIs; including, leading kick off meetings and “go/no go” discussions, participating in strategy sessions, drafting targeted, high quality content and updating and managing responses to questions about the firm. Duties include: Building relationships with other departments that contribute to RFPs, such as pricing, accounting, the Office of General Counsel, IT and others; coaching attorneys for client pitches and presentations; managing the firm’s proposal and pitch tracking database; coordinating with business development team making sure that attorneys participate in post-RFP evaluations to obtain feedback; work closely with senior team members/stakeholders to develop and manage business development training for attorneys; manage/track/analyze client preferred provider arrangements (PPAs) to ensure maximization of opportunity; refine use of business development tracking and reporting to facilitate and enhance business development activities. Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, at least 3 years of experience in professional services marketing and business development, prior successful accomplishment in marketing and business development; ideally in a law firm, outstanding project management skills, superior interpersonal and written communication skills, prior experience supervising a direct report a plus, proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. InterAction, Adobe, and Publisher skills a plus. Salary is commensurate with experience.
