As Project Manager, you will manage engineering development of our insurance products. Working closely with the Insurance Product Manager and executive team, you will develop product architectures, technical plans, and project roadmaps leveraging the client's data analytic and AI technologies. You will form and manage Agile teams of developers, developing and managing Sprints, and supporting daily Scrums. Additionally, you will coordinate operational deployments, and support the technical vision for advanced cyber products and operations.

You should have strong project management and systems engineering skills and a background in implementation of complex software products, preferably around Insurance. You will be an important part of new client implementations working closely with developers, software configuration teams, product teams, and customer support teams.


Lead diverse software development teams to on-time fulfillment of applications and services in a hybrid public-private cloud/computing environment

Develop system architectures supporting product features to aid in development and collaboration

Work closely with the Reinsurance Team and serve as a subject matter expert in the client's product offerings

Aid in resource allocation to achieve insurance product and services scope and profile implementation timeline for all product and deployment deliverables

Ensure teams have the appropriate direction and priority at all times to remain on track to reach internal and customer commitments and deadlines

Manage through and appropriately address both internal and customer escalations

Track and report status of all projects you own during our weekly updates; where any risk may exist, proactively build, communicate and lead recovery actions

Manage the deployment of software enhancements and fixes per release schedules using Agile development methodologies

Help to shape and improve the product roadmap by consolidating and communicating feedback

Work with Product and Sales team to understand client engagement parameters and ensure product readiness

Work with Software Development leadership and teams to ensure technical requirements for engagement can be met on schedule; if necessary, identify and plan for any client specific engineering requirements

Follow client integration parameters, update implementation plans and report client satisfaction outcomes internally to cross-functional teams

Ensure that all project milestones are met according to schedule and communicate effectively to cross-functional teams whenever obstacles to meeting client expectations surface


Reside in the greater Washington D.C. area or be able to relocate

Ability to support regular travel (<20%)

2. Experience in software systems engineering and architectural development

3. Adept at learning and applying new technologies and solving new problems

4. Familiarity in dealing with managing engagements with large enterprise clients

5. Experience managing projects in Insurance Systems, Property & Casualty and/or Reinsurance

6. Must have big data experience, excluding relational data stores.

7. Extensive experience with Atlassian products - Preferred

8. Experience with functional programming languages such as Scala or Erlang - Preferred

9. Understanding of DevOps tools and CI/CD processes - Preferred

10. Experience and interest in large-scale distributed systems - Preferred

11. Interest in with Apache Spark, Apache Pig, AWS Pipelines, Google Dataflow, or MapReduce - Preferred

12. Agile development experience - Preferred

13. Prior experience as a software developer - Preferred

14. Ideally, the candidate has worked for a startup where everyone wears many hats, has passion and grit.
