MGR Construction is looking for experienced Carpenters to join our team. We specialize in renovations, so we need a Carpenter with cabinetry and framing experience who loves thinking outside the box and wowing clients while maintaining a safe environment. The ideal candidate will have his or her own vehicle and tools and be willing to travel within the Kelowna area.

Though we have a facility for pre-fab carpentry when the job calls for it. For the right applicant, we will consider a promotion to Lead Carpenter/Foreman in six months. Responsibilities:

- Prepare drawings for cabinetry, framing and other construction projects on-site

- Interpret client requests and provide mock-ups for clients to approve prior to commencing work

- Build cabinets, vanities, tub and shower surrounds and other projects based on demand

- Frame room additions as needed for client

- Select and evaluate materials for defects

- Install cabinets, counters and molding

- Follow all code requirements for kitchens and baths in remodeling projects

Qualifications and skills:

- 2+ years' experience in finish carpentry

- Additional 1+ years' experience in rough carpentry preferred

- Extensive knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, miter saw and jigsaw

- Possession of basic hand tools and reliable transportation to job sites

- Willingness to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time

- Capable of climbing on ladders and carrying at least 80 pounds

- Knowledge of lumber grades and counter top material

- Must have steel toe boots and hard hat

Compensation:

To qualify for higher compensations "ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET OUR COMPANIES' CRITERIA"

28$/H - No Certifications

- 2+ year experience apprentice level

32$/H - Have Certifications

- Must have completed construction education course at reputable College

- 4+ years apprentice/ certified journey man Certificated

- Must have working at heights Certificate

- Must have WHMIS Certificate

We do not require full crews. $34/hour to start for subcontractors. All subs MUST have a valid GST number,
