Required Skills and Experience:

• 4-6 total years in an agency environment, including at least 3 years in the digital space

• Knowledge of all aspects of the digital landscape including SEO, SEM, Mobile, Programmatic Display, paid Social, and more

• Experience planning, buying, and/or analyzing digital media

• Experience managing budgets

• Leadership over the process of translating data and/or research into media strategy

• Experience interfacing directly with one or more ad tech platforms (DSP, DMP, Attribution…)

• Experience delivering strategic, persuasive, or analytical written communication to clients or internal stakeholders

• Experience negotiating and buying site-direct digital display

• Bachelor’s degree; science or economics background preferred

Helpful Skills and Experience:

• Quantitative analysis & reporting (including Excel, R, Python, Tableau, Google Data Studio…)

• Published thought-leadership on ad tech or related topics

• Hands-on campaign management and optimization in programmatic display, paid social, digital video, or addressable TV

• Account management/business development

• Experience setting up campaign tracking and specifying tracking parameters

• Persuasive writing

• Knowledge of traditional media channels including TV, radio, print, and out-of-home

• JavaScript

• Tag manager

• Web analytics

Job Description:

The Associate Director of Performance Media will lead media strategy and client communication on enterprise media accounts owning client success and steering optimization strategy using our client’s industry-leading media buying, audience building, and machine learning tools. The successful candidate will provide thought leadership and play a strategic, hands-on role in planning, analyzing, and optimizing integrated media campaigns in programmatic display, paid social, CTV, and addressable TV. You will be working with designers, copywriters, brand strategists, data scientists, and programmatic traders distilling and connecting perspectives using a broad knowledge of advertising technology and performance media tactics. Specifically, you will:

• Develop a thorough understanding of each client’s business objectives and challenges

• Organize and conduct discovery research (using tools including but not limited to MRI, Kantar, Telmar, Google Analytics, BuzzSumo, ComScore, Crimson Hexagon, Google Trends, Search Console, DemandSphere, Conductor, Adwords…)

• Coordinate collaboration between teams to deliver innovative, effective media strategies

• Ownership of flowcharts, change requests, and billing

• Manage media experimentation to identify effective channels, messages, and audiences

• Orchestrate campaigns-managing budgets, flight dates, audience targets, and creative assignments; and playing a leading role in the delivery of reporting and optimization strategies
