JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Buyer is responsible for daily functions in Purchasing, Transportation, Inventory Management, and Vendor Management. This job impacts the Quality Program through ensuring the conformance of Vendors and Raw Materials with the ISO 9001 Quality System. Additional clerical responsibilities might include but are not limited to: Order Entry, Internal quality Auditing, Customer Service, Record Management, Reporting Data, and Receptionist Duties.

JOB SCOPE: This is a full time position, 7 hours per 5 day work week, 35 hours weekly. The Buyer reports to the COO and in his absence, the CEO or CFO. The Buyer coordinates the day to day buying responsibilities and transportation with the COO. This will include all Raw Material purchases, purchases of sundry items like Office Supplies and Filter Paper (FSP), monitoring transportation flow inbound and outbound where needed, and handling any claims related to transportation failures such as damage, service failures, and mis-deliveries. Customer Service (CSR) responsibilities coordinated daily with the Manager of Administration & Human Resources.



1) Place orders for Raw Material, Packaging, and Sundry items.

2) Order and Receive all Filter Paper (FSP) orders in Macola and make sure Customer is billed.

3) Monitor Plant and Office Inventories.

4) Maintain Approved Suppliers in Macola.

5) Arrange, Schedule, and Ensure the timely deliveries of Quality Raw Materials and Supplies.


1) Work with Compliance & Process Manager in meeting ISO Purchasing Requirements.

2) Assist with Order Entry, Internal Quality Auditing, File Management, and Customer Service as needed.

3) Maintain a Raw Material Price Change sheet that advises Management of any

significant changes in the cost of goods on a monthly basis.

4) Report on any Purchasing, FSP, and Raw Material items as needed in support of Management and the ISO Program.


MUST Have Some Buying experience!

1) High School Education Required. Some College Preferred.

2) Strong Communication Skills

3) Ability to handle fast paced environment and multi-task while working independently.

4) Specific Training on Company Systems will happen on the job.
