Our valued client located in Burlington, ON is looking to hire a Pharmacy Assistant on a temporary basis to help in the smooth operation of their business. You are expected to support the team’s day-to-day operations, and make a positive impact to the organization. In this role you will be accountable to provide patient-focused care, recommend clients on the use and effects of pharmaceutical drugs, and ensure the accuracy of prescriptions.

We are looking for an assistant to work Sunday to Thursday, 40 hrs per week for 3 months to start. Hours may vary from morning to evening shifts. We are looking for a three months coverage for now, however assistants do typically get extended for a longer period based on performance.


• Implement standard procedures for mixing, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals to ensure quality.

• Instruct patients regarding directions for taking medications.

• Dispense prescribed pharmaceuticals to customers and communicate the dosage amount.

• Complete new and update patient profiles, including lists of patient medications in the computer system.

• Maintain drug inventory levels by ordering necessary medications and supplies by verifying deliveries against purchase orders.

• Counsel patients on prescription medications and OTC products.

• Work alongside healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, and review the drugs.

• Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures, professional standards and applicable laws and regulations .


• Minimum 1 year experience working in a pharmaceutical environment

• Experience with Delta is a strong asset

• Ability to work productively under pressure in a fast paced environment

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and customer service skill

• Ability to identify, prevent, and resolve drug related problems
