Location: West Memphis, AR area

Education: Minimum of BS/BA in Science, Food Science, or related field.

Experience: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Possess the ability to convey technical applications to non-technical personnel. Exercise good judgment in problem-solving situations. Must have excellent organizational and computer skills. Requires great attention to detail. Use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), as well as an understanding of food microbiology sampling and testing, is a must. Use of statistical and process mapping software required for both participation in Six Sigma projects and routine report writing. Reliable and punctual with reports and presentations. Possess good safety habits. A mix of office and laboratory work. Must be able to work extended hours on occasion and be willing to travel up to 20% of the time.

Purpose and Summary

Direct responsibility for the review, implementation, and auditing of the following:

Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS),

Facilitate the development, implementation, review, and management of the Plans, Programs and other documents referenced in the FSQMS.

Take the appropriate action to assure the integrity of the programs listed in the FSQMS

As an SQF Practitioner, facilitate, support, and coordinate activities and programs to uphold the integrity of the SQF system

Specifically, manage the following programs in order of priority:

Food Safety Plan

Food Quality Plan

Hold and Release

Customer Complaint

Product Recall (including mock recalls),

Foreign Material Control

Supplier Approval

Pest Control

Conduct GAP analysis and or internal audits on the Food Safety and Food Quality Management system to ensure audit preparedness.

Educate plant with updates within quality and food safety in our industry.

Lead the HACCP/Food Safety/Quality Team meeting with emphasis on documented program equivalence to floor practices.

Host internal and external audits as well as customer visits that are Quality related.

Maintain open and effective communications with all Departments within KFI and KIUS.

Promote an environment for teamwork throughout the plant and support the SPC programs that generate improved plant operations and cost savings.

Support the CI&I and Sales Departments by visiting customers and vendors; support completion of Quality documentation requests

Develop and monitor the budget and capital expenditures necessary to support the Quality effort.

Support sensory activities as needed at the facility.

Manage the overall integrity of the Approved Supplier program which includes tracking supplier performance, COAs, and periodic ingredient sampling and testing.

Manage all non-conforming goods through the Hold and Release program which includes the rework/reprocesses procedure and the CAPA procedure.

Manage the Identify Preserve program by ensuring the upload and certification of the Kosher, Non-GMO, RSPO, and Organic projects.

Communicate and respond to customer complaints to plant departments and customers in a timely manner. Drive root cause, corrective action, and closure with functional teams at the plant.

Manage the overall integrity of the Pest Control program which includes a review of the inspection reports and communicating gaps to prevent issues.

Develop and oversee the Quality Analyst to effectively and efficiently perform task assignments. Assure compliance of training to required training matrix.

Review and approve timesheets.

Attend the plant management team staff meeting as needed.

During the absence of the Quality Lab Manager, support Lab functions.

Performs routine GMP inspections at the facility and reports as well as tracks corrective actions taken for continuous improvement.
