Vice President, Health Plan Clinical Pharmacy Strategy - RT

Position Purpose: Oversee the strategic planning, development and performance of clinically-based pharmacy products and health care programs

Oversee the development and performance of clinical programs and ensure strong clinical quality initiatives are delivered

Oversees the clinical decision-making aspects of the programs

Oversees staff that are making clinical decisions affecting consumers

Direct the evaluation and analysis of pharmacy cost of care and trend management and recommend improvements

Lead the development of innovative benefit designs to promote adherence to care

Ensure Specialty Pharmacy products and services are aligned with overall business strategy for optimum revenue growth

Lead research and development of new quality improvement, health outcomes improvement, and market competitive, pharmacy-based products and services

Ensure operational goals and financial targets are met and/or exceeded to support of the organization’s mission

Develop and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships with company’s clients, vendors, regulatory agencies, internal departments and various stakeholders

Periodically consults with network pharmacies, pharmacists, regulatory agencies or other stake holders.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration or related field. MBA or advanced degree in business preferred.

2. 7+ years of clinical or operational pharmacy services experience, including 5+ years of experience in pharmacy benefit management.

3. Strong understanding of contemporary clinical, operational, and regulatory pharmacy practices.

4. Thorough understanding of prescription benefit management programs and practices, contracting, products/services, cost structures, pricing, and business practices.

5. Current state’s pharmacy license without restrictions preferred.
