Biomed Equipment Technician – NY #4317

Responsible for troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, maintaining and calibrating a basic range of clinical equipment, devices, systems and instruments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Inspect, maintain, repair and calibrate equipment and systems

• Provide advanced support of equipment for direct patient care

• Interact on a routine basis with clinical health providers in the identification of technology-based problems and solutions

• Solve organization-level customer service issues and complaints

• Prepare required documentation and reports

• Ensure regulatory compliance

• Responsible for purchasing parts

• Demonstrate a safety mindset

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with end users

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree in biomedical engineering or equivalent of military BMET program, and/or AAMI certified. Basic Functional Experience - 3 years in biomedical electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical repair.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must have basic functional experience including 3 years in biomedical electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical repair.

• Must have strong outstanding customer service, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize

• Must be adaptable to change, able to multi-task, and can function well individually or in a team environment

• Must be task-orientated with attention to detail

• Must be competent in the preventative and corrective maintenance of clinical devices such as: Ventilators, Surgical Tables, Surgical Lights, Injectors, Infusion Pumps, Monitors, and other clinical devices.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS

Full time position and core hours and days are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. May be asked to work additional hours depending on workload.

TRAVEL

Must have ability to travel in the Long Island area.
