Job Description:

• The MD Admissions Office is seeking a MD Admissions Officer who will participate in all aspects of the medical student admissions cycle including, but not limited to, recruiting, reviewing files, participating in admissions special events, and data analysis.

• Primary responsibilities for this position are data analysis as well as the coordination, execution, and evaluation of the applicant selection process.

• The MD Admissions Officer is expected to work independently under minimal direct supervision, and to administer, implement, and interpret university and/or department admission policies and procedures.

• Read, evaluate, and make first level recommendations on medical school applications

• Participate in developing recruitment initiatives as directed by the Director, Assistant Director or/and Associate Dean of Admissions which could include both local and national travel Assist with creating, updating, and maintaining admissions training presentations and protocols Design, update, and maintain forms, databases, and handbooks used for admissions procedures before and after the admission season

• Use admissions databases and applicant management tools to analyze data to generate enrolling class profile and other deliverables

• Use admissions applications such as PeopleSoft to assist in pre-matriculation activities and on-boarding students

• Evaluate and review efficiency, validity, reliability, and accuracy of admissions activities by analyzing data and preparing reports;

• update guidelines, trainings, and materials based on results of analyses

• Create, execute, and analyze surveys for candidates, interviewers, faculty, and others

• Coordinate all resources required for event management by interfacing with others such as Med Scheduler,

• Catering/Event Services, faculty, and other Educational Programs & Services staff Assist in management of and compliance with the department budget and procurement


• Bachelor's degree and 2 years relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience

• Experience in selective admissions, student affairs, or a closely related field, in related University departments

• Ability to work with online applications and if needed, design, deploy and maintain content in a web-based application

• Familiarity with managing databases, conducting analyses, designing reports, and if needed, implementing the reports in web-based applications

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Excellent reading comprehension and writing skills

• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make distinctions among competitive applicants
