General Description:

The general manager is responsible and accountable for meeting and exceeding corporate objectives for P&L, budgeting, and operational metrics through development of a high-trust performance culture.

Responsibilities:

• Leads, manages, and collaborates with multiple direct reports.

• Monitors plant, equipment, and machinery to identify necessary changes for improvement using LEAN Manufacturing concepts and practices.

• Regularly and consistently reports results to President/Advisory Board of Directors.

• Develops communication strategy alongside HR for employee engagement and goal alignment, direction, and leadership connection requirements.

• Responsible and accountable for safety management and accident prevention, as well as, environmental and regulatory compliance.

• Collaborates with Human Resources regarding employment and organizational development issues and opportunities for improvement.

• Responsible and accountable for maintaining a non-union environment

• Responsible for leading in and participating in organizational educational initiatives, including college relations and job fairs, internal leadership development schools, and apprentice and internship programs.

• Oversees and participates in staffing initiatives for hard-to-fill positions including CNC, PLC, Mechatronics, and Die Correction.

• Responsible for employee engagement activities, surveying, and continuous improvement activities related to engagement surveys.

• Responsible for outsourcing decisions in support of cost or due dates.

• Interacting with customers as needed and some travel required.

• RFPs and capital expenditure justification.

• Performs other duties as assigned

• Participates in aluminum industry trade associates.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Industrial/Mechanical engineering Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Must possess personal and professional development orientation and be able to integrate learning and development into the culture.

• Decision making and prioritization skills.

• Ability to influence people to achieve customer requirements.

• Strong written and verbal skills: interpersonal, inter-departmental and with outside vendors and customers.

• Leadership skills including ability to work in a high-trust team environment.

• Good judgement - showing strong business acumen, decision quality, perspective and problem solving.

• Ability to manage multiple projects.

• Ability to problem solve, develop and implement action plans to resolve them.

Physical Demands: Light - Requires prolonged sitting, infrequent bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, sitting in an automobile for long periods, walking, and carrying from 1-20lbs. Some travel required.
