Mechanical Engineer

Our client, a reputable, established company is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in the Bay Area of CA as a full-time employee. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will research, analyze, design, and test component parts, processes, or systems to develop new and/or improve core products. You will develop and recommend solutions to well-defined engineering requirements, or for components or segments of a complex product or system, to ensure that design objectives are met. This position will support the Customer Experience team in Technical Assistance with existing product lines (no new product development). 70% of this position's time will be in Sustaining and Manufacturing Engineering, 30% in Customer Experience, supporting customers with technical issuesand applications. The 3 key points of this role are: Manufacturing Engineering, Sustaining Engineering and Customer Experience. Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (strongly preferred) or Aerospace Engineering.

* 5-10 years of related experience.

* Working knowledge of engineering domain principles and techniques, product functionality, industry practices, regulations, and policies. General knowledge of other related engineering and technical areas.

* Proficient with engineering design and analysis tools ( e.g. computer-aided design or modeling systems ); ability to use standard software packages. May require capability using specialized software applications or languages.

* Experience and/or interest in delving into the commercial side of the business, and communicating and helping customers.

* Ability to work with general objectives regarding projects and team goals; apply judgment in selecting procedures and techniques that should be applied. Work collaboratively in a team environment.

* Ability to effectively communicate status, actions, recommendations, and other technical information with clarity and precision. Responsive to inquiries from other engineering and business teams.

* Flexibility to travel overseas occasionally.

Pluses:

* Semiconductor, Aerospace / Defense and/or Medical Devices industry experience.

* Professional Engineer ( PE ) certificate.

* Experience with designing regulators and/or valves.
