The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to lead a critical-to-business team. They will manage current product lines through the generation of job packets, cost out initiatives, process and quality improvements.

This role requires:

A strong engineering leader

A technical aptitude for engineered systems allowing the person to quickly grasp the product designs, both mechanical and electrical, and the applications of the products

The ability to engage directly with customers and cross-functional departments including the executive management team

The ability to improve engineering processes to gain efficiencies and improve the quality of work

Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee the activities of the Engineering team to meet goals.

Hold one’s self and team members accountable for performance while taking ownership.

Resource development – recruit talented and dedicated employees.

Provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on management for all initiatives related to Sustaining Engineering.

Manage the flow of job packets in order to support production schedules.

Manage the implementation of cost reduction projects.

Manage the implementation of Sustaining projects.

Responsible for obtaining and maintaining agency certifications for new and current production products.

Manage the transition of CAD activities from 2D to 3D and the implementation of a new PLM system.

Work with the VP of Engineering to develop, track, communicate tasks in order to meet timing, and feature/quality objectives for all sustaining engineering projects

Job Requirements

Education & Qualifications

Education: BS in engineering required, preferably mechanical. MS in engineering is optional.

Minimum requirements: 3 years management; 7 years product sustaining, development and design.

Preferred experience: product design and sustaining manufacturing systems, electromechanical product development.
