Responsible for both selling and renewing individual and small group business (2-50) in Local Group markets where the territory is too small to justify use of both a Sales Account Executive (new sales) and an Account Manager (renewal).

New sales goals would typically be less than that of a normal Sales Account Executive and the renewal book of business would typically be less than that of a normal Account Manager.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Acquires new small group accounts through brokers and/or directly to customers.

Prospects accounts and produces revenue through new and renewal sales.

Acts as resource and expert for broker community, educating and answering inquiries as needed.

Develops strategies and utilizes selling techniques to acquire new business.

Develops and executes retention strategies. Identifies opportunities for penetration sales.

Manages the renewal process and ensures that accounts receive excellent customer service.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

1. Requires a BA/BS; 5 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

2. Experience in developing broker and/or customer relationships and strong insurance knowledge and negotiation skills strongly preferred.

3. Direct selling or other sales experience preferred.

4. Sales License required.

5. Travel may be required.
