Full-time Cardiac Surgery NP needed right outside of Los Angeles!
Position Description: The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with the medical and hospital staff to ensure that continuity and multidisciplinary care is provided for patients. He/she will utilize advance clinical skills and knowledge to assess patients and manage all aspect of care, including invasive, diagnostic and therapeutic procedure. The NP will communicate clinical issues to the physician, write orders according to standardized procedures/protocols, coordinate and schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as well as facilitate arrangements for discharge. In addition, the NP will support/educate clinical nursing staff regarding goals and treatment strategies in the promotion of quality nursing care and practice. May perform other duties as assigned.
*Current and valid nursing licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Current California Furnishing License or within 6 months of hire. Master Degree in Nursing. National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner required within 6 months of hire. Minimum of 5 years of experience post-initial nursing degree.
*Acute care Nurse Practitioner experience is preferred. Prior experience developing and coordinating an evidence based diabetic program is preferred.
