Position Summary -

This role is the front line supervisor role in charge of running a production area of diverse union and company employees. The supervisor is in charge of all aspects of the department including but not limited to budget, yields, employee and union relations, record keeping and employee data, training, safety, food safety, USDA relationships etc.

Principal Accountabilities -

• 50% - Day-to-day supervision, engagement and development of department employees (developing relationships, coaching, training, etc.)

• 15% - Review, monitor and follow-up on area results. This includes managing department costs to remain within budget guidelines.

• 15% - Maintain customer relations by ensuring product quality specifications are met. Interface with customers on plant visits and audits.

• 10% - Process optimization.

• 5% - Manage and ensure compliance and improvement in the area of safety, food safety, and environmental.

• 5% - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Four year degree in an agricultural related field or 2+ years prior experience in production/manufacturing supervisory experience.

2. Demonstrated leadership, coaching and team building skills.

3. Must have the capability to function effectively as a member of a highly motivated management team.

4. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

5. Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

6. Fluent in English: written and oral

7. Basic Mathematical Skills: addition, subtraction, division and multiplication

8. Willing and able to work 2nd Shift

9. Previous verifiable experience in the Beef Processing Industry - Preferred

10. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Somali - Preferred
