Regional Sales Director, Municipal Water, Construction Services

Seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead, train and motivate a team of technical sales professionals selling a wide variety of products and services to Municipal and Industrial water and wastewater treatment customers throughout the West region. As the Regional Sales Director, you will have complete responsibility and accountability for a multi-million-dollar, multi-state region.

Essential Job Functions Include:

Develop and implement a tactical business plan that supports the strategic vision of the company

Manage the profitable growth of a multi-state West Coast region supported by 7-10 sales representatives

Provide product and service training as required to ensure the overall technical competency of your sales team

Lead and train technical sales team in areas of problem solving and consultative sales techniques

Set stretch goals for individuals and team to achieve high performance levels

Develop target account strategies and conduct joint sales calls at customer plant locations

Provide feedback, coaching and establish career development plans

Assist with the development and delivery of commercial proposals and customer presentations for all products and projects within the region

Remain current on industry developments and emerging trends (technological, competitive, and environmental)

Respond promptly to changing customers demands

Travel throughout region as required to provide support and to drive profitable new growth

The ideal candidate for this sales leadership role will meet the following criteria:

4-year degree required (Engineering, Science, or Technical degree highly preferred)

MBA is a plus, but not required

5+ years SALES MANAGEMENT experience as District Manager, Regional Manager or Sales Director of a team of 8 or more salespeople

5+ years successful SALES EXPERIENCE in Municipal Water, Waterworks, Industrial Water, or Engineering & Construction Services

Thorough understanding of a consultative, problem solving, “solutions selling” sales culture

Strong aptitude and desire to train, coach, and develop technical sales professionals

Clear track record of high sales and sales management achievements

Strong business acumen with detailed understanding of key financial performance metrics

Use of customer relationship management (CRM) databases such as is a plus

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Valid driver’s license and a good driving record

Competency with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel is required

Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%

Compensation includes a very attractive base salary, strong bonus program, and company vehicle.
