Compensation Director – for prominent global law firm in Washington, DC.

This position oversees design and implementation of the firm wide compensation programs for partners, lawyers and staff.

Candidate will work closely with senior leadership ensuring compensation strategy and programs support firm objectives and meet legal requirements.

Some of the responsibilities for this position: manage process of Associate, Counsel, Partner, and staff annual compensation programs; coordinate delivery of total compensation and bonus memos; implement special, exceptional payments such as pro-rated compensation, special bonus considerations, signing and retention bonuses and other incentive payments; evaluate competitive practices, assess and compare the firm’s position to market, making recommendations and making sure plans are cost competitive and meet recruiting and retention objectives; produce explanatory materials for executive review and approval; work with outside consultants in order to deliver strong analytical advice and recommendations regarding external and internal compensation issues; and anticipate future trends in base and incentive pay for lawyers and staff.

Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred, a minimum of 10 years of experience in administering compensation plans, advanced Excel skills, facility with HRIS systems (Workday preferred), proven successful analytical and financial modeling skills, and ability to translate analysis into recommended actions.

Salary is commensurate with experience
