Job Duties, including but not limited to:

Endoscopy Technicians:

Clinic orientation for the health care worker shall take place during regularly scheduled shifts immediately following the commencement of services.

Annual renewal of command directed training requirements including but not limited to: customer relations, disaster preparedness training, sexual harassment, family advocacy, and infection control and blood borne pathogens.

Perform necessary administrative duties that include maintaining statistical records of clinical workload, participating in education programs, and participating in clinical staff quality assurance functions.

Participate in meetings to review and evaluate care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.

Lead Endoscopy Technician (Specific Duties):

Oversee the schedule and competencies of the other contractor GI technicians. Ensure initial training and periodic retraining is occurring and documented.

Maintain the inventory and par levels of supplies required to run the GI service

Train and maintain training records of the technicians. High level disinfection is a particularly high risk and visible area and requires a dedicated person with expertise to ensure proper procedures are occurring.

A supervisory lead technician is critical to ensuring this process.

Coordinate the mandatory in-services when new equipment and supplies are introduced.

Assist and perform technician evaluations and help with issues related to technician’s job performance.

Monitor maintenance of high value property of a technical nature for the clinic, including the endoscopes.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: License/Certification and Training: Completion of the following:

Endoscopy Technicians:

High School Diploma required.

Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Lead Endoscopy Technician:

Bachelor’s Degree desired but not required for position

Experience: Candidates must have the following experience:

Endoscopy Technicians:

A minimum of four (4) year experience within the last five (5) years in the specialty clinical service area within the past 5 years.

Must be proficient in both basic GI procedures as well as the advanced therapeutic procedures including Endoscopic US and ERCP.

Experience in a hospital GI clinic preferred.

Lead Endoscopy Technician:

A minimum of five (5) years experience as an endoscopy technician proficient in both the basic GI procedures as well as the advanced therapeutic procedures including Endoscopic US and ERCP.

Knowledge of the inventory and supplies required to operate the Gastroenterology Ambulatory procedures unit.

Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint

Proficient in the Infection control and high level disinfection practices and able to supervise the training and competency of new employees in these practices.


National Background Investigation

Must be US Citizen

Must have reliable transportation to and from work site

Licensing and Certification:

Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from the American Heart Association

Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Gastroenterology Endoscopy Technician


Monday to Friday

8, 9 or 10-Hour Shifts between 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM
