We our seeking a qualified candidate for a Process Engineer Role at the Powder Metals facility in Robinson, PA.

This position is responsible for process and SPC development where processes and designs are developed and documented in order to meet or exceed customer expectations for a given product

Requirements:

Educational Background:

B.S. in Metallurgy, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related field is required. M.S. degree is preferred.

The successful candidate will have the following characteristics:

Demonstrated proficiency in Continuous Improvement programs (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)

Computer skills and the ability to plan, organize, and control multiple activities.

Strong technical problem solving background.

Essential Job Functions include the following, other duties may be assigned:

Reviews customer specifications against manufacturing capabilities

Establishes, documents and standardizes process flow paths for the manufacture of different alloy powder products

Proficient use of Oracle/ERP systems including responding to quotes and DDRs, maintenance of items/recipes, etc...

Manages projects covering technical feasibility, technical service, defining the manufacturing process, advising procurement, documenting data, writing reports.

Develops and assures compliance for both internal and external processing included but not limited to:

Raw material specifications/procurement, Includes costing and cost benefit

Chemistry control/recovery percentages

Gas content/ ARS maintenance/ Powder recoveries through entire process

Powder distributions

Charge approval and assist with melt planning

Creation of actual melt supplement

Process updates and changes

Cost per heat -- cost reductions

Sub process for grade changes

Charge mixes for new grades

Process improvement initiatives

Lead on operational and process cost reductions

Screening yields-correlate PSD/Atomizer variance

Screening yields-process parameters

Process control of screening equipment

Loading -- process improvement/conformance to spec/shop problems/equipment monitoring

Outgas -- process improvement initiatives/aid in furnace scheduling/provide approval to crimp

Investigates and corrects rejection causes (i.e. problem solving) and/or non-random processing behavior (i.e. problem avoidance). Includes acting as the lead on problem solving teams

Uses SPC techniques to analyze processing data in order to decrease cost and/or improve productivity (i.e. reducing cycle and/or set-up time).

Locates and develops working relationships with suppliers in order to perform work external to Powder Metals.

Assists plant engineering on various capital projects for plant improvements.

Lead risk assessment on all process changes/updates and capital installations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

1. B.S. in Metallurgy, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related field is required.

2. Minimum of 3 years of Process Engineering Experience. with continuous improvement experience in a heavy industrial environment (preferably metals experience)

3. Must be a self starter, work well independently and as a team member?
