Description:

Estimate and assist managing multiple civil construction projects demonstrating maturity, leadership with others, civil construction site knowledge (min 7 yrs.) with experience in estimating and pre-construction coordination for projects exceeding 5 million dollars, technology proficient, strong reporting/analytic skills, and a team player.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Work closely with VP of Operations, Project Managers, Superintendents

Estimating heavy civil site work, Paving Projects and Railroad projects

Develop detailed estimates

Assist with take-off process for site work including: grading, underground utilities and paving

Assist with outsourcing, analyzing and selecting subcontractor services and material purchases

Participate in bidding process, including coordinating with sales and operation teams

Help managing project cost and change orders

Assist with submittals and other necessary project documents

Attend preconstruction and assist operations team in setting up projects after award

Study and understand the contract documents of each project before and after estimating to determine areas/issues that may present problems and unforeseen costs

Essential Qualifications:

B. S. Civil Engineering

Estimating for civil construction experience – 7-10years

At least 1 year of field experience is preferred

Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project data

DOT (Dept. of Transportation) and asphalt experience is preferred

Proficient in technology (computer/specialized software)

Excellent communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills

Trustworthy and dependable

Proven ability to keep accurate records, report and analyze

Demonstration of teamwork development

Proven ability to problem solve and visualize opportunities

Willing to travel 50% (2-3 days per week) during bidding times.
