We are looking for an experience SAFETY MANAGER in our Terre Haute, Indiana office. This individual will be responsible for managing and overseeing safety and health responsibilities for all of the work of the local office(s) locations. The ideal candidate must be able to use analytics, identify trends, and familiar with Collective Bargaining Agreements. This individual will report to the Safety Director in Pittsburgh, PA. A minimum of 50% of time will cover field work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* The safety manager will provide day-to-day direction, leadership, coaching, and sound judgment to eliminate or reduce at-risk environments and behaviors in the workplace.

* Assists management and supervision in inspection of workplaces to ensure safe and healthful conditions for the employees. These operations include commercial electrical, heavy industrial, transmission and distribution.

* Conducts all necessary training related to the construction standards as well as Sargent Electric Safety Program.

* Conducts accident investigations to discover root causal factors and implement action items to avoid reoccurrence.

* New employee onboarding will be the responsibility of the Safety Manager.

* Assume additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Electrical Management.

SKILLS:

* Excellent written communication skills. Proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to type.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of diverse individuals.

* Works efficiently under tight timeframes, responds to requests in a timely manner, and communicates effectively as a team player.

* Understands the importance of being able to multi-task.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor’s degree in Safety Sciences (or equivalent).

* At least 5 years’ experience in a safety management role.

* Fluency in 2018 NFPA 70E Standards.

* Strong familiarity with hazards associated with electrical installations.

* Strong planning, prioritizing, and presentation skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* OSHA 500 Outreach Instructor.

* CHST, CUSP, ASP, CSP certifications.
