EBSCO’s Journal Content Pipeline manages the end-to-end content lifecycle, from extraction and transformation to product build, allowing our customers to easily search and discover journal articles that meet their needs.

We are looking for a team player who has a passion for driving innovation that will significantly impact the speed, quality and delivery methods for loading content onto our products. The Business Analyst is a strong collaborator with excellent facilitation, analytical and problem-solving skills who can work with and across business teams to identify and implement solutions using fact based, data-driven analysis. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating large data sets from multiple sources to solve complex problems and clearly connects technology solutions with measurable business value. Primary Responsibilities:

- Develop intimate knowledge of Content Management business strategy, business model, and Content Pipeline processes to identify improvement opportunities and value-added capabilities

- Lead and participate in process design and improvement initiatives: evaluate business user requirements, manage project scope, determine priorities, ensure efficient and on-time delivery of initiative tasks and milestones, monitor progress and outcomes, manage customer expectations on results

- Drive initiatives that improve speed to market, content completeness, content quality, and operational margins.

- Provide and support the implementation of business solutions that meet long-term business strategies by building relationships and partnerships with key business groups and stakeholders

- Identify, create and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis

- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, integrating new systems, technology and processes with existing ones

- Perform research on competitor products and provide quarterly reports to stakeholders on competitor strengths and weaknesses

- Solve complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of multiple dependent and co-dependent factors

- Utilize various software tools for data extraction, analysis, reporting and monitoring, ensuring data sources and metrics are reliable, repeatable and valid - escalate blockers with the right level of urgency to the right audience

- Tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations

- Support leadership and business teams with timely, recurring and ad-hoc reporting, analysis

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience

• 3+ years’ experience in business analyst role

• 2+ years’ experience with Data Analysis – Must have proficiency with relational databases, SQL, Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year+ experience in Agile and Scrum or LEAN/Agile software development environments

• 1 year+ experience with Rally

• 1 year+ experience with Tableau or similar data visualization software

• 1 year+ experience with Python and/or R a plus

• 1 year+ experience with APIs a plus

• 1 year+ experience working with standard bibliographic data and content formats including but not limited to: XML, PDF, JATS, NLM, HTML, etc.

• 1 year+ experience with Web Accessibility and/or Responsive Design best practices a plus
