Billing Manager to handle all aspects of the client billing process, including:

Monthly billing for criminal defense practice (flat fee), family law practice (hourly), personal injury (expenses)

Lots of client contact – face-to-face, email and phone

Meet with new clients to complete retainer documentation and make payment arrangements

Accept and post payments (credit card/cash/check/wire); collect IRS form 8300 information as needed


Respond to chargebacks

Work closely with attorneys and paralegals to manage receivables

Work closely with Controller to ensure accurate client accounts and IOLTA account

Produce weekly/monthly/quarterly internal reports

We are looking for a responsible, proactive team player with meticulous attention to detail and a high-energy, can-do attitude. The ability to deal effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people is essential in this client-facing role. Prior law firm experience is an advantage, but aptitude and personality are key. We will train a great candidate.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

1. 3+ years of billing and/or financial reporting experience in a law firm or other professional services environment

2. Excellent verbal and written communications skills

3. Strong Excel skills

4. MS Word and Outlook proficiency

5. Experience with case management/billing software desirable
