Mechanical Reliability Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing

One of the nation’s leading chemical manufacturers needs a Fixed Equipment SME for this Mechanical Reliability Engineer position. You must be experienced with Fitness Assessment for service, Solid Works, and able to run complicated calculations that determine how long the equipment will be able to run. You’ll be the go-to-engineer who will make shut-down decisions.

You’ll be responsible for improving the reliability of the plant’s fixed equipment reliability through proper, predictive, & preventative maintenance programs. You’ll be a part of the team that handles the construction and installation of mechanical & electro-mechanical equipment and systems. Your other responsibilities will include:

• Coordination of the maintenance & repair of equipment to get optimum utilization of equipment

• Investigate the thinning vessel walls & manage the maintenance process

• Creating an efficient and orderly system to accomplish assigned project and meeting objectives

• Prepare detailed scope of projects in conjunction with process engineering, maintenance, safety, environmental and manufacturing concerns

• Prepare the capital appropriations and setting up cost controls

• Prepare detailed specifications for BOM & work with purchasing to obtain bids

• Implement Maintenance Excellence initiatives, goals and costs

• Identify and reduce/eliminate repeated equipment failures

• Work with Engineering on PSM implementations, work practices, design and repair standards, mechanical integrity, and layers of protection

• Assist budgeting and expenditure forecasting, tracking metrics, and generating monthly reports, including input into capital budget and to drive improved reliability.

Salary $90,000 - $120,000 + Excellent Benefits & Paid Relocation to a Southern USA metro area. Requirements for the Mechanical Reliability Engineer:

1. Bachelor’s Engineering degree required, prefer Mechanical or Chemical

2. Certifications with API, inspections, & other certs are a plus

3. At least 8 years’ experience in a reliability or project engineering role with process or chemical plant experience preferred

4. Must have FIXED equipment and design experience with tanks, heat exchangers, piping, chillers, vessels, API, etc.

5. Must have experience with Fitness Assessment for Service

6. Must be knowledgeable of OSHA & PSM Standards

7. Skilled in MS Office & Project, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SAP Maintenance Module preferred

8. Must be able to obtain a TWIC card
