Materials Planner

Searching for a qualified Materials Planner to support the logistics department of a manufacturing facility in western NY.


• Planning and monitoring reusable and returnable packaging between company, customers and vendors.

• As primary Materials Planner of the department, will manage the reconciliation of company owned inventory at subcontractor’s locations, as well as managing purchase orders and work orders to support production schedules and customer demand.

• The Materials Planner will interact with other planners, customer service, sales and operations to monitor changing demands and avoid past due, as well as determine material shortages, take appropriate actions, and communicate these actions while maintaining a strong working relationship with peers, other departments and vendors.

• Supporting Logistics with quoting and setting up deliveries and reporting all issues that are potentially impactful to on time customer delivery to the Corporate Planning Manager.


• Associates degree, Bachelors preferred, in a relative discipline ( technical or supply chain, etc.) or equivalent on the job expertise within the manufacturing sector, such as Materials Planning and Supply Chain management.

• 3 yrs relative experience in a materials, planning or a similar role in support of the responsibilities and scope outlined above to include experience in the planning and supply chain of manufactured and/or purchased goods.

• Understanding, familiarity or experience with ERP / MRP systems.

• Strong ability to multi task and work efficiently with a large workload.
