Quality Assurance Director - RT

Brooklyn, New York

Job Purpose:

Ensure the superiority of chemical product quality sold into several different industries.

Employer is a chemical manufacturing company located in Brooklyn, with about 100 employees.

Work Hours: 9-5 M-F

Reports to: President

120 year old chemical manufacturing company specializing in quality dyestuff for the fashion industry: Hair, fur and leather. Family company, casual work atmosphere, low employee turnover.

Vacation will be 12 days for the calendar year 2018 and 20 days every calendar year thereafter. 12 paid holidays per year, and sick days as needed.

Duties:

- Set and maintain quality standards for chemical raw materials, finished products, packaging and manufacturing processes.

- Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements.

- Plan and manage quality audits both on-site and at supplier locations.

- Manage supplier product and process specifications.

- Set and communicate customer-facing guidelines for proper storage and handling of products.

- Receive, investigate and respond to customer questions, feedback and complaints about quality matters.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Master's Degree in Chemistry

2. Prior experience (10 years) with Quality Assurance in the chemical business.

3. Ability to speak to customers with diplomacy and authority.

4. Must live in NYC, Long Island, Westchester.

5. Experience performing manufacturing process validations.

6. Maintain pre-existing ISO 9000 program. (This can be taught on the job)

7. Must be willing to travel Internationally to support the above. 3 to 4 such trips (week to 10 days) Asia/Europe.

8. Experience with international chemical regulations preferred.
