Our client, a growing international energy provider, is seeking an experienced financial leader to support their organization located in the SF Bay area to work in the capacity of Director of Finance. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the financial and control structure for organization''s US offices. The ideal candidate will possess a depth and breadth of experience in all areas relating to financial reporting, financial controls, financial and corporate compliance and financial planning and analysis. The position reports to the Global VP of Finance and is pivotal to the delivery of the US business’ internal and external financial reporting.


* Provide leadership to the finance team, developing and implementing financial strategic plans in accordance with Company''s global financial strategy, making influencing decision in order to add value to Company through information and end to end process design.

* Oversee day to day finance and accounting operations.

* Prepare annual AOP budgets and monthly forecasts (i.e., capital planning and expenditure analysis).

* Develop and maintain controls framework.

* Support management by driving performance by providing clear metrics, and act as a sounding board in strategic, tactical and operational matters.

* Drive resolution of high profile business problems and progress transformational projects.

* Provide technical accounting oversight and support, addressing complex issues arising from business development activity, M&A, organizational change and change in regulatory requirements.

*Evaluate current processes and policies and provide and implement recommendations for improvement.

* Manage accounting policy and reporting changes.

* Ensure all North American accounts are reconciled and any outstanding items are investigated promptly.

* Ensure dual compliance with IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards and maintain detailed and accurate translation policies and accounts.

* Promote and implement effective people management practices including cross-skilling, personal development and active succession planning.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (Submission Summary)

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related business discipline is required.

CPA is required.

12 – 15 years of experience in a multi-national organization exposed to all facets of finance/accounting management is required.

3 or more years of leading and directing a team of direct reports with hire/fire responsibilities is required.

Superior analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgment and ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Extensive understanding of financial trends within general market patterns is required.

A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles is required.

Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations is required.

Proficient user of finance software (i.e. Oracle preferred).

Strong communications skills (i.e. verbal, written and interpersonal) are required.

Bilingual in Chinese (oral and written) is strongly preferred.
